An anectdote for you.....
"A woman is leaving her multimillion dollar mansion when a poor man approaches her and cries, "oh ma'am, I haven't eaten in three days." to which the woman responds:" I am so envious of you ; I wish I had your willpower."
Being that it is the beginning of the year and it seems everyone is on a health kick to cook more, eat less, exercise, lose weight, etc. I found this to be fitting. It goes to show you that one person's perspective can be so different from another's. It is meant to remind us to be sensitive to other people's differences and needs. It also made me laugh just a little since it was not what one would expect the lady's response to be. (She probably gave him some food too!)
With that, I leave you with some holiday decoration photos. Don't worry they are all put away and Valentine's Day decorating has begun. More photos on that soon.

Hi there... I actually just left this comment for you on MY blog, but then I noticed you've actually updated yours! :) So here's a c&p just to make sure you see it.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I love your photos and the truffles look beautiful! :)
Valerie... the other blog has just one entry in it, from about a year ago when my MIL suggested I keep a journal as we started down this path of marriage counseling, Tommy's depression and individual counseling, etc. It's a post about how I was so confident that we would be not only okay but better than ever before once we came through the storm we were in... confident in our love for each other, and in our marriage vows. I never wrote in it again, I've just never been a good journaler... but it's striking given where we ended up not so long after that post.
I've actually been considering using this blog as more of a place to write about my journey and feelings through this hellish past year and whatever lies ahead. I'm still a little on the fence since it's so public and he obviously has the ability to read it too... which maybe would be a good thing. If you want to email me you can, at kimber3744@yahoo.com :)
Hi Valerie. I wanted to respond to your question regarding writing on your pics. I use a free online program: www.picnik.com to create photo collages and layer text or graphics on my photos.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back! Love these pictures! YUM!
